Free/ Low Cost things to do this week in Fredericksburg VA and surrounding areas

There is never a dull moment in Fredericksburg, Check out these unique and fun events that will be fun for the whole family and wont break the bank. 

Tuesday March 25 

  • R- Board Eco Wonderland Spring Break Camp environmental camp" is designed for children and teenagers to spend their spring break learning about environmental issues and engaging in hands-on activities to promote conservation and sustainability. Activities include a composting magic show, recycling games, take-home activities, and an edible landfill. 

          Cost: Free

          Time: 10:00AM - 1:00PM

           Location: Rappahannock Regional Solid Waste Management Board (R-Board) 


Wednesday March 26 

  • R-Board Eco Wonderland Spring Break Camp -environmental camp" is designed for children and teenagers to spend their spring break learning about environmental issues and engaging in hands-on activities to promote conservation and sustainability. Activities include a composting magic show, recycling games, take-home activities, and an edible landfill.

Thursday March 27

  • 18th Century Game Night at Ferry Farm- Discover how people from all walks of life passed the time with games during the 1700s. Walk through the replica Washington House and its grounds, where we’ll teach you how to play classic games like Shut the Box, Ye Royal Game of the Goose, Whist, Mancala, and outdoor lawn games.

         cost $10 per adult $5 per child

         Time 5pm-7pm

        Location George Washington’s Ferry Farm 


  • PreSchool Palette- Preschool Palette nurtures your child's creative spirit through engaging books, colorful garden walks, and open-ended art exploration.

         Cost $12 per one adult/child ( pair)

         Time 10am-11am

         Location Gari Melchers home and Studio


Friday March 28

  • Summit Speech & Drama Presents “Peter & Wendy”-This March, The Summit Academy's Speech & Drama program is performing "Peter & Wendy," a compelling production based on the classic novel.

            Location Marshall Center Theater 

  • Jazz and a Mission Concert Series-The Jazz and a Mission concert series is back! Join us on the fourth Friday at 7:00PM as we celebrate the work of SAWs-Virginia.

  • Spring Break Cinema- Enjoy a free, family-friendly movie over Spring Break! Bring a blanket, chair and your favorite snack. Move to be announced.

  • The Digestive System- Littlest Lab Coats- During these programs, preschoolers will gain knowledge through observations, experiments, and play! Some topics include light, the magic of science, the human body and plants. Ages 3-5. 

          Cost $10-$12 per person ( registration Required) 

           Time 11am-12pm

            Location Dorothy Hart Community Center
