Know Before You Go: Summer Archaeology Camp at Ferry Farm

Give your kids the chance to "dig up" some fun this summer at Ferry Farm’s historical archaeology camp! What could be better than spending summer days exploring George Washington's childhood home and uncovering history firsthand?

What to Expect

At the Summer Archaeology Camp, young explorers will:

- Dig up actual artifacts from the past.

- Meet real archaeologists and learn about their work.

- Experience the “science of history” through hands-on activities.

- Learn how to properly grid an archaeological site, excavate, and keep detailed field notebooks.

- Visit the archaeology lab and practice mending artifacts.

- Gain a deeper understanding of the mysteries beneath their feet at **Ferry Farm, George Washington’s Boyhood Home**.

- Discover the significance of archaeology in understanding George Washington’s life and the history of the site.

 Important Details

- Ages:Open to campers **8-12 years old**.

- Dates: June 9, 2025 – June 13, 2025.

- Cost: $175.00 per camper **plus processing fees**.

- Registration: Advance registration and payment **are required** as camp space is limited.

-Deadline: Registration closes at **4 p.m. on Monday, May 26, 2025**.
