Historical & Cultural Activities

  1. George Washington’s Birthday Celebration (Feb 17) – Celebrate the first U.S. president's birthday with historical events in town. Celebrate George Washington’s 293rd birthday with activities, educational opportunities, snacks and so much more 

    Location: George Washington’s Ferry Farm

  2. For the Love of Fredericksburg: A Celebration of African American Enterprise Walking Tour.”(Feb 22) – Explore the Legacy of African American Enterprise in Fredericksburg with a free walking tour.

    Time: 1:00pm-2:00pm

    Cost: Free ( donations appreciated but not required)

Outdoor Activities this week 

  1. Wren and Sparrow Bird Walks ( Feb 18) - Join experienced guides on this free outdoor fun adventure. Come explore the parks diverse wildlife. Remember to dress for the weather. ( ages 12+) ( no pets)

  2.  Stories Under the stars ( Feb 21) - bring a chair and a blanket and join everyone for a night of stargazing. Warm drinks will be provided as well as myths and legends. All children and adults are welcome. Don't Forget to Register.

  3. Coldest Night of the Year Walk ( Feb 22) -Coldest Night of the Year Walk Micah has exciting news! The Fredericksburg City Council has approved the rezoning for the Jeremiah Community, housing for the chronically homeless. Join TEAM TABERNACLE TOGETHER to take a brisk walk in downtown to raise money to keep our homeless warm. The Coldest Night of the Year is a winterrific family-friendly fundraising walk in support of local charities. Let’s change the tune for people experiencing hurt, hunger, and homelessness… because it’s cold out there.

  4. Guided Woodland Hike (Feb 23) - Join Vrginia Master Naturalist on sunday for a guided mile long hike through woodlands, fields, and historic Belmont ruins.

Indoor Activities this week

  1. Morning With a FireFighter ( Feb 20) - Meet some of Fredericksburg’s own Fire Fighters. This event is for Preschoolers and will introduce them to basic fire safety skills, allow them to learn about gear, and meet some local heroes.

  2. Concerts at St. Mary’s Joseph Ciskanik ( Feb 21) - Enjoy wonderful concerts in this sanctuary. Everyone is welcome.

  4. 4.  Autism -Friendly Winter Wonderland ( Feb 22) -Explore Winter Wonderland at the new SOS Clinic in Alexandria. Activities will include arts and crafts, bouncy houses , and so much more.
