Editor's Note: Winter's Gone Already?

Mar 02, 2021 03:19PM ● By Chris Jones

This winter has seemed to come and go.

January, which seems worlds away (as compared to last year’s never-ending first month), and February, albeit cold and winterlike, are both in the rear-view mirror of 2021. That puts spring right at our doorstep. Warmer weather, longer days, and turning the kids loose to roam the yard or pedal the neighborhood.

I’m optimistic that we’ll be able to take a giant step forward between spring and summer. And speaking of, March is when we roll out our early list of summer camps and begin our Family Favorite’s chatter, which you should have come across on the inside front cover. This year, we’re honoring the businesses who had the best COVID-19 response with a category unto themselves.

Also, in this issue you’ll find the first of a two-parter we’re doing in the style of HGTV’s “Love It or List It,” but ours is in reverse. This month, we asked local realtors what you need to do to ready your home to list this spring (and in our Family Money column, you’ll get advice if you’re a first-time homebuyer). If you’re loving your home still, next month we’ll have area contractors dishing on how to make your home your castle.

We also introduce a new column this issue called Ask Mom. In this column, we have two moms a generation apart breaking down everyday parenting scenarios. It’s a lot of fun, and I think you’ll love it. It will be in a rotation with Love, Live and Little Ones with Ms. Lydia, which debuted last month. Be sure to check them both out on our website and submit your questions for our columnists to answer on our website or in a future issue.

Well, that’s all for me. I hope your March is all lamb and no lion.
