Doris E. Buffet (Dixon Park) Pool

May 28, 2018 12:38PM ● By Fredericksburg Parent Staff

Nothing beats a cold pool on a hot day. Thanks to the Doris E. Buffett Pool (Dixon Park Pool), kids in the city of Fredericksburg can take a cool dip and enjoy other amenities, like its waterslide, water features for little ones, and a zero-depth entry area for easy access.

The pool is free to use for city residents, but non-residents are welcome to play for a small non-resident fee.

The Doris E. Buffett Pool offers swimming lessons, pool-party rentals and seasonal events. This year, those events will include a “Zombie Hunt,” doggy swim day and more. There is also an area where you can purchase food and escape the sun under tables with umbrellas.

The pool is located in Dixon park at 1300 Dixon Street, which is on Rt. 2 & 17 across from Mayfield subdivision.

This summer, Fredericksburg City Public Schools and The Doris E. Buffett Pool are proud to announce that they are participating in the Summer Food Service Program again this summer. Meals will be provided to all children without charge from 12:00pm – 2:00pm every day from June 25 to September 3.

For more information on the pool, check out its section on the Fredericksburg City website: https://www.fredericksburgva.gov/departments/recreation/index.aspx?id=1131

You will also want to sign up for Fredericksburg Alert. It delivers important emergency alerts, notifications and updates (swim-lesson cancellations, pool closures, etc.) to you on all of your devices.
