Top 10s

Hey FredParents! This weekend is The Kids Expo at The Expo Center! It's always such a fun, family event. If you haven't been before, we wanted to share the 10 things we're looking forward to the most. Of course, there are way more than 10 things happening at the Expo, so be sure to swing by and check them all out.

For more info, check out the Kids Expo website and the Facebook Event Page.

Top Ten Things We're Looking Forward To At The Kids Expo

1) The Fred Parent Cover Kids Contest, of course! -   Stop by the Fred Parent booth and have Unforgettable Moments Photography snap a fun Photo Booth picture of your cute kid(s). They just might be voted a 2016 Fred Parent Cover Kid!

2) The Giant Sandbox - Guys... It sounds crazy, but kids LOVE the snot out of the giant sandbox. I mean, it's a "huge" mountain of sand and lots of fun sand toys. What's not to love? If you have really young kids, you may want to save this one for last. They'll never want to leave!

3) Petting Zoo- Adorable children and adorable furry animals. That's always a win.

4) Inflatables from KDz Kidz World - Burn off a ton of energy in the bounce houses provided by KDz Kidz World!

5) Giving Pouches a hug - Our mascot, Pouches, will be popping in and out all day to give out hugs and take pictures! See if you can find her!

6) The amazing vendors -  We have some seriously amazing small businesses and schools, in Fredericksburg. Stop by all the tables to find out a little about these businesses and take part in an activity or giveaway!

7) Cool demonstrations and seminars- Throughout the day, The Kids Expo will have various demonstrations and seminars taking place. Richmond Bubble Soccer, K9 demos, Little Fish Swimming, Dr. Yum, CPR Training, and Modern Travel, are just a few of the demos and seminars The Expo has in store!

8) Meet a Minion- A friendly Minion will be at the Expo on Saturday from 1:00pm - 4:00pm, and Sunday from 12:00pm - 3:00pm.

9) Meet local heroes - Come say hello to the local firefighters, EMTs, and police that help keep us safe.

10) Pony rides - Your little equestrian will love petting and riding the beautiful ponies at the Expo!

See you guys there!

Pouches' Community Corner

Pouches Visits the Past

If Pouches' experience at History Camp is any indication, your son or daughter will enjoy joining Washington Heritage Museums and the George Washington Foundation for History Camp in Fredericksburg. The week-long day camp will be held June 25-29, from 9:00 a.m. to noon each day.

Young historians discover American history with hands-on experiences as they walk in the footsteps where the history of Fredericksburg, and a budding America, was created. The camp complements the history taught in classrooms with activities such as soap making, code breaking, colonial crafts, penmanship and much more.
