Trunk or Treat. Oct 20 & 27. 5 pm. One Eyed Zombie Terror Trail 5K. Oct 20. 4 - 6 pm. Grab your running gear, and prepare to run for your life. Chose to either be a survivor or a zombie as you navigate 5 kilometers of forest trails and roads, while negotiating obstacles. Zombies and survivors run on separate clocks, as the survivors get a 30 second head start and try to out run the living dead. Registration is $25 for both survivors and zombies. Stratford After Dark. Oct 27. 4 - 8:30 pm. Come celebrate Halloween at Stratford Hall! This year children can visit the outbuildings surrounding the Great House to trick or treat! Hayrides will also be offered and will take guests around the Oval in front of the Great House. Fun seasonal crafts, fortune telling, face painting, and refreshments will be offered in the Visitor Center. Don’t forget to stop by our bonfire to warm up or to roast marshmallows! UMW Pumpkin Palooza. Oct 28. 1 - 4 pm. Community Outreach and Resources at the University of Mary Washington invites local children and their parents or guardians to our annual Pumpkin Palooza. Enjoy an afternoon of fall-themed crafts, games, and candy. The event will be held in the Chandler Ballroom inside the University Center, and we will also have trick-or-treat tours in the residence halls throughout the afternoon. Fall Festival of Fun.  Oct 31. 12 - 4 pm. Helping Hands, Inc. is celebrating its 15th year of pediatric therapy excellence with a Fall Festival at our office on Halloween. This event is free for the whole family, and will have a variety of activities to keep kids entertained including a pumpkin ring toss, a fall photo booth, face painting, a bounce house obstacle course, a variety of fun sensory crafts and activities, and an on-site food truck! Whether your child has been a patient here or not, this event is open to you. Come help us celebrate! Pouches' Community Corner

Be KIND at Home and Abroad

This month, Pouches highlights two community events and one international aid opportunity for families to support. 

On October 13, there will be a Kindness Day pancake breakfast at Spotsylvania Towne Centre. On the 20th, the Happy and Healthy Kids Fair is at the Children's Museum Fredericksburg.

Also in October, Pouches is preparing for a trip to Ecuador to bring used orthotics and prosthetics to people in need in that country.
