Nothing fills you with Christmas cheer quite like bringing home your Christmas tree. It’s one of those special family traditions that everyone remembers. If you are looking for an old school, family-owned Christmas tree farm that offers and variety of trees (including Frasier Firs), Belmont Christmas Tree Farm is for you!

Belmont

Full disclosure: It’s not in Fredericksburg. It is well worth the drive to Spotsylvania, however! Belmont offers several kinds of trees, sells them precut or allows you to cut-your-own, and even sells wreaths. The most charming part of Belmont Christmas Tree Farm is Santa’s Workshop. Inside you can purchase a small lunch with hot cocoa while you chat with Santa! Remember to bring a nice camera; the farm is full of adorable picture opportunities!

Be sure to print and color a picture from their website before you go. You’ll receive $5 off your purchase (one per family).

Follow them on Facebook for giveaways and up-to-date information on the farm:

HistoryCamp

If Pouches' experience at History Camp is any indication, your son or daughter will enjoy joining Washington Heritage Museums and the George Washington Foundation for History Camp in Fredericksburg. The week-long day camp will be held June 25-29, from 9:00 a.m. to noon each day.

Young historians discover American history with hands-on experiences as they walk in the footsteps where the history of Fredericksburg, and a budding America, was created. The camp complements the history taught in classrooms with activities such as soap making, code breaking, colonial crafts, penmanship and much more.
