SIBLING SUNDAY

Fredericksburg, Virginia – The disAbility Resource Center (dRC) is hosting Sibling Sunday on Sunday, June 3, 2012, from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. for children who have a sibling with a disability. Sibling Sunday is based on Sibshops which provides siblings with the opportunity to talk and share their thoughts with others who have similar experiences. Lively discussion happens during an afternoon of interactive and exciting games and activities.

Sibling Sunday will be offered for siblings in the first through fifth grade and will be held at the dRC, 409 Progress St., Fredericksburg. Cost is $15 per child or $25 per family. Reservations are required by Wednesday, May 30, 2012.

Pouches Visits the Past

HistoryCamp

If Pouches' experience at History Camp is any indication, your son or daughter will enjoy joining Washington Heritage Museums and the George Washington Foundation for History Camp in Fredericksburg. The week-long day camp will be held June 25-29, from 9:00 a.m. to noon each day.

Young historians discover American history with hands-on experiences as they walk in the footsteps where the history of Fredericksburg, and a budding America, was created. The camp complements the history taught in classrooms with activities such as soap making, code breaking, colonial crafts, penmanship and much more.
