NMMC at Home: JAG
Calling all junior prosecutors! Do you want to play the role of law AND order? Check out our summertime virtual event: NMMC at Home: JAG (Judge Advocate General).
An artifact from the National Museum of the Marine Corps Children’s Gallery, a ceremonial statue of former mascot Pierre the Pigeon, has been stolen! It’s your job to collect clues with NMMCPD detectives, build a case, and play the role of prosecutor as you help solve this fun museum caper!
This program will be delivered in four parts. Starting on 20 July, follow the process of solving the crime and trying the suspects in court based upon the rules of evidence. For three weeks, students will (virtually) study the crime scene, gather physical and testimonial evidence, and put their arguments together for court. Our fourth “episode,” tentatively scheduled for 10 August, will be the live and interactive trial. During this live event, students will interact with our prosecutor on hand (on a virtual video conferencing program) to help him convince the jury that our suspect is guilty. Our jury members will be NMMC staff members who will see the trial with fresh eyes.
