Blossom Kite Festival. March 30, 10 am- 4:30pm. Head to the Washington Monument grounds for a day of kite-flying and kite-related activities including demonstrations, competitions, a Kite Club Display Area and Activity Tents where kids can make their own kites to fly. Witness the Rokkaku Battle or the Hot Tricks Showdown, or simply relax and enjoy the colorful, high-flying spectacle! Where: Constitution Avenue & 17th Street, NW. FREE! 

Easter Egg Hunt & Marshmallow Harvest. April 6 & 7, 10 am – 5 pm. The Easter Bunny has hidden over 20,000 treat-filled eggs and we need you to help us find them! While hunting for eggs, harvest a few marshmallows to enjoy by the bonfire. After collecting your eggs, enjoy playing in our five-acre play area, visit with our new spring baby animals, take a wagon ride, and rejoice that it is spring! Easter Eggstravaganza @ Central Park. April 7, 11 am – 3 pm. A scavenger hunt with goodie bags for the first 500 finishers, arts & crafts, face painting, princesses, & visit with the Easter Bunny! Cost: Free! No tickets necessary! Where: Central Park Funland

Spring Forward Festival. April 7, 1 – 4 pm. Children and their families are invited to spend the afternoon on the lawn of Brompton, a few blocks from the UMW campus, for spring crafts, games, and egg hunts. Cost: Free and open to all!

Lunch with the Easter Bunny: Stafford. April 10, 10:30 am. Join the Easter Bunny & his friends for songs, crafts, games, lunch and lots of fun! Cost: $12/kids and $4/adults. Where: Rowser Building, Stafford. Register: 

Preschool Easter Egg Hunt. April 12, 10 am. Join the Easter Bunny for a special egg hunt just for the little ones! Don't forget your basket! For ages 5 and under! Where: Rowser Building, Stafford. Cost: $5. 

Breakfast with the Easter Bunny-Spotsy. April 13, 9:30 – 11:30 am. Join us for a fun-filled morning with breakfast, crafts & photos with the Easter Bunny! Be sure to bring your Easter Basket... we will be HOPPING outside for an Easter Egg Hunt with over 1,000 eggs! Where: Marshall Center, 8800 Courthouse Rd, Spotsy. The National Cherry Blossom Festival Parade. April 13, 10 am - 12 pm. Vibrant costumes and blossom-inspired décor create the look of nation's premier springtime parade. Giant colorful helium balloons, elaborate floats, celebrity entertainers, marching bands from across the country, and performers burst down Constitution Avenue in a grand spectacle of music and showmanship seen only once a year during the Festival. Standing along the Parade route from Constitution Ave between 9th and 15th streets, NW is FREE and open to the public. 

29th Annual Multicultural Fair. April 13, 10 am – 5 pm. The whole family will enjoy this entire day devoted to multicultural entertainment, children’s activities, international and American food, and ethnic craft vendors. Where: UMW, 1301 College Ave, F’burg. Cost: Free! for more information

Eggsplosion! April 13, 11 am – 3 pm. Join us for egg hunts, amusements, and special guests at our annual Eggsplosion. Enjoy games, prizes, and a performance by Rocknoceros! Cost: $10 preregistration/$12 day of registration. Where: Curtis Memorial Park, F'burg, 22406. Register: 

Easter Egg Hunt & Egg-lympics. April 13, 12 – 5 pm. Children ages birth to 12 will enjoy hunting for candy filled Easter eggs, meeting the Easter Bunny, playing bunny themed games and creating unique crafts. Where: Widewater State Park, Aquia and Potomac Picnic Areas. Cost: Free event but $5 parking fee to enter the park.

Dog Easter Egg Hunt. April 13, 1 pm. Come dressed to enter our doggie costume contest to compete for prizes!! Bring your dogs and come join the fun at our annual Dog Easter Egg Hunt. All dog parents must sign release acknowledging their dog(s) are current on shots and are healthy. Where: Memorial (Kenmore) Park. Cost: $5 for up to 2 dogs, Pre-registration is requested. On-site registration will be available only if space remains. 

Caledon Easter Egg Hunt. April 13, 1 – 3 pm. Celebrate the new life of spring as Caledon kicks off its first annual Easter Egg Hunt. Bring your family and a basket for each kid. Highway's Annual Easter Egg Hunt. April 13, 1 – 4 pm. There will be 3 separate hunts based off ages. In addition, there will be bounce houses, small games, face painting, cake walk and more! Easter Egg Hunt @ Hillcrest United Methodist Church. April 13, 5 – 7 pm. Join us for our Annual Easter Egg Hunt! We will have 4 egg hunts based on ages. Also, crafts, cookie decorating, face painting. Where: Hillcrest United Methodist Church. Cost: Free!

Easter @ Braehead Farm. April 14, 15 & 20. 9 am – 6 pm. Take a hay ride, visit with the Easter Bunny (Bring your cameras), gather Easter eggs, do a scavenger hunt, play in the Family Playgrounds. Cost: $9/person. Ages 2 and under are free! 

Sensory-Kindness Bunny Time. April 14, 9:30 am. Families of children with disabilities know that a trip to a shopping mall can be challenging—crowded stores, loud music and long lines can make the experience especially difficult. Adult Easter Egg Hunt. April 14, 12- 5 pm. Hop down to Great Country Farms for an Easter egg hunt just for adults! 8th Annual Beeping Egg Hunt. April 14, 2 – 4 pm. This free event provides an opportunity for visually impaired and blind children, along with their families, to participate in an audible egg hunt. Bring your basket and join us for an egg hunt, miniature animal petting zoo, refreshments, sensory crafts and activities. Easter Eggstravaganza @ Carter Mountain. April 20, 10 am – 7 pm. Patricia Thinks She is the Easter Bunny Carriage Ride. April 20 & 21. Olde Towne Carriages has a couple of confused horses! They are fuzzy and think they are the Easter Bunny! Annual Easter Egg Hunt at Stratford Hall. April 20. 10 am – 1pm. The Easter Bunny will make his annual appearance at Stratford Hall for our popular free Easter Egg Hunt. Children will be grouped by age from 2 (accompanied by parents) to 12. A special prize awaits those who find a “golden egg.” Enjoy hot dogs, cupcakes, and drinks. Cost: Free and open to all!

Easter May & Earth Optimism Celebration. April 22, 10 am – 2 pm. Families are invited to enjoy egg hunts, live music, food trucks and games while discovering how they can help save species. This free event includes hands-on learning opportunities featuring Smithsonian conservation success stories, special animal demonstrations, keeper talks, and meet and greets with scientists and conservation partners working to protect wildlife around the world. Earth Day. April 27, 11 am – 4 pm. Dozens of environmental exhibitors, live music, great food, birds of prey, pony rides, hands on activities, and much more for the whole family! Learn what you can do to reduce your impact on the planet while having FREE fun. Where: Old Mill Park. Cost: Free! 

Spring Open House @ Belmont. April 28, 10 am – 5 pm. The public is invited to tour the house, studio and galleries of the famous American painter Gari Melchers. Stroll the restored gardens and woodland trails, visit the Fannie Roots House on the property to hear about the latest restoration efforts, join a Preschool Palette class in the kitchen classroom and explore the museum shop.
