Organizing Through Life

It's January - a new month, new year and hopefullty a New You!

It is the time that everyone makes those New Year resolutions and I'll have to say that I am so "done" with that. Being able to make change really means a transformation. And not just a "space" transformation but also a "mind"  transformation.

This is an extremely busy year for my business and personal life. We have two new grandchildren due to arrive within the next few weeks, elderly parents who are in need of more of our attention, an addition to our business services (that I think you will love) as well as the launch of a new extension of Organization Direct.

And this will all happen because I am also working on my transformation in 2015!

Here are just a few of the tips that have been shared on our Facebook page for the first week of January...

1. Create new habits. Making the choice to change your life and transform your space means the creation of new habits. It can be something as simple as setting a morning and evening schedule. Maybe it is setting up a meal planning schedule to help you eat better and have more family time. Everything that happens methodically and automatically is a habit. So, create some new habits this month.

2. Create your To Do List. Know what you need to accomplish every day. Having things written down, whether it is electronically or on a piece of paper, will help you stay focused on what you need to do - not what you want to do. And, if you want to do more every day - try getting up just 30 minutes earlier each morning. You have just found 2.5 hours extra for the week! (And that is if you don't count the weekends.)

3. Do you waste time? If so, identify it and deal with it. I'm not saying that you have to be busy all day, every day - but I'm sure that you can identify an hour (or maybe more) that you waste every day. When you avoid wasting time you allow yourself the pleasure of getting more done.

In our next blog post we'll share our new service. And, watch for our huge announcement to win FREE organizing! You can win a complete room makeover.

Here's to some great new habits and a New You!

Happy New Year from Organization Direct!

Pouches' Community Corner

Pouches Visits the Past

If Pouches' experience at History Camp is any indication, your son or daughter will enjoy joining Washington Heritage Museums and the George Washington Foundation for History Camp in Fredericksburg. The week-long day camp will be held June 25-29, from 9:00 a.m. to noon each day.

Young historians discover American history with hands-on experiences as they walk in the footsteps where the history of Fredericksburg, and a budding America, was created. The camp complements the history taught in classrooms with activities such as soap making, code breaking, colonial crafts, penmanship and much more.
