Pssst…Hey dads…Mother’s Day is Sunday (or for Moms who just need to treat themselves). Need ideas on how to  show love and appreciation for the lady who keeps the family together? Check out our list.

Let Mom sleep in (or at least get an undisturbed nap).

Breakfast in bed: Include delicious pastries from Eileen’s or Freddy’s Donuts for a Covid Carb indulgence. No gluten for mom? Get fresh fruit from the Farmers market. Bonus! Know how she likes her coffee or tea? Grab her favorite from any of the fantastic coffee shops in Fredericksburg – Agora, 2530, Italian Station, Hyperion Espresso and more – there’s plenty to choose from and all have curbside pick-up.

A mom printable from the kids.

Clean the house – yep, that is right! Enlist the kids, pick up the clutter and clean.

A gift box at any one of the great businesses in #downtown Fxbg. Boxes start at $20.

Make or order dinner. What’s for dinner? Mom’s favorite! Many local restaurants have take out kits or meals to go. (HINT: order early – it’s the busiest day of the year for restaurants.) List here!

Grab a bottle of her favorite libation from any of the local wineries, breweries of distilleries. List here

Sign her up for a local art class – let Mom unleash her creativity with a virtual class. Liberty Town Arts and Wine & Design currently offer art-at home classes.

Donate to her favorite charity in her honor – May 5th is Giving Tuesday Now. Honor Mom with a donation in her name.

Stop and smell the flowers. Give her a cheerful spring flower basket she can enjoy or surprise her with handmade flowers from the kids. Try this idea for handmade flowers from Cooking Autism, Inc. here:

Whatever it is you do – make it meaningful and show your Mom she is loved and appreciated. Happy Mother’s Day.
