Doctor Yum: Dress Your Own Salads

salad-dressing-jarWhen you dress that healthy salad with store bought-dressing, you may be weighing it down with calories and processed ingredients. Try making your own salad dressing instead! Grab a mason jar and add your favorite vinegar and oil. Use ingredients like a dollop of jam or mustard to combine them, and add herbs or spices for flavor. Then comes the fun part — shake (kids love this part!).

Tired of cooking the same meals for your family? Want to put more fruits and vegetables on your family’s plate, but afraid they won’t like it? The Doctor Yum Project can help! Our newest free program, Doctor Yum’s Cooking Club, is a collection of kid-tested, healthy recipes featuring seasonal produce that can be prepared with your friends in a social environment.

Information on our cooking club and a collection of kid-tested recipes is available at www.doctoryum.com. Make sure to visit our Facebook page for healthy eating ideas.
