Pumpkin Patches:

Belvedere Plantation
September 20 - October 26; Saturdays 10am-10pm & Sundays 10am-6pm.  Friday evenings 5-10pm (Pumpkin Patch lighted for night picking!) Weekday Hours:  Tue-Fri   9:30am-1:30pm (not all attractions are open). This working farm celebrates the fall harvest time with pumpkin picking, bonfires, evening hayrides, and a cornfield maze! Other attractions include pedal tractors, pig races, a pumpkin mountain slide, barnyard animals, and the fun barn with giant rope swings. Braehead Farm.  Pick a pumpkin in our fields in front of the market, shop in our market and have lunch on the weekends at our Braehead Farm Kitchen.  An admission fee of $5/person on weekdays and $7.50/person on weekends (under 2 free!) gives you  access to the entire back of the farm where we have our ”Playgrounds in the Barn Lot”, a pumpkin patch, corn maze, sunflower maze, and more!  On weekends there will be hayrdies, pumpkin carving/decorating barn, kettle corn and more!  1130 Tyler St, F'burg, 22401.

Clark's Farm.  Open 7 days/week from 10am – 6pm starting Sept 20 - Nov 2.  Activities include: farm animals, a hay mountain, large maze, face painting, pumpkin painting, pumpkin bowling, great cutouts for photos, a moon-bounce, and pony rides on weekends. Food, hot apple cider, and specialty craft items sold on premises. Price of admission includes a pumpkin!  $6/Weekdays and $8/Weekends.  712 Courthouse Rd, Stafford, 22554. 

The Corn Maze.Sept. 27 - Nov 9 (Fri, Sat: 10 am - 10 pm & Sun 10am - 6pm).  Five acre corn maze, barnyard animals, hayrides, pumpkins, picnic area, moon light maze and more.  4501 Old Tavern Rd., The Plains, 20198.

Great Country Farms.Sept 27 - Oct 31; 9am - 6pm.  Where else can you pick your pumpkins right off the vine, get lost in a corn maze, visit with the pumpkin princess, cheer for your favorite swine at the infamous Oinkintucky Derby, and watch P-Rex our pumpkin munchin’ dinosaur? Round Hill Farm.  Opens Sept 27 - Oct 31. Weekdays: 3 - 6 pm; Weekends:  10 am - 5 pm.A tractor-drawn hayride carries your family or group to the Pumpkin Patch. Pick-your-own or select from pre-picked pumpkins at the farms open-air market. Snead's Asparagus Farm.   Sept 27 - Nov 2, 9 am - 5 pm.  This working farm has a huge pumpkin patch for pick your own. Apple Picking:  

Carter Mountain Orchard.  Open daily 9am - 6pm.  Pick your own in the orchard or buy pre-picked in the store.  Apple Harvest Weekend Activities include hayrides, music, wine tastings, pumpkins and picnic area.  Also available in the store:  fresh baked apple pies, apple cider donuts, pumpkins and specialty crafts.  Apple Harvest Festival happening every weekend in Oct, 8 am - 7 pm!  1435 Carter Mountain Trail, Charlottesville, 22901.

Fall Festivals: 

wagon-pumpkin-patchApple Gala & Cider Festival @ Great Country Farms.  Sept 6, 7; Sept 13, 14; Sept 20, 21:  9 am - 6 pm.  We will celebrate the start of the apple picking and cider pressing season with tastings of this season’s best sparkling cider blends including peach, cherry and raspberry. Apple Harvest Celebration @ Carter Mountain Orchard.  It's our biggest celebration of the year! 2014 Apple Harvest Celebration will be held EVERY weekend in October!  Extended hours:  Sat/Sun: Open 8 am - 7 pm  (1st 3 weekends in October).  Join us for music, food, hayrides, wine tastings, pumpkins, apple picking, apple butter, apple cider, apple cider donuts, apple pie, and all things apple!

Belvedere Plantation Fall Festival Finale.  Nov 1( 10 am - 10pm); Nov 2 (10 am - 4 pm).  It's your last chance to visit Belvedere Plantation before we close for the winter! And we have a great line-up of entertainment and activities — don’t miss our new Pumpkin Smash competition!  Reduced Farm Admission for Fall Finale is $12 (children two and under admitted free).  Included in Farm Admission are the Corn Maze, Fun Barn, Zipline, Ye Olde Barnyard, Pumpkin Mountain Slide, Jumping Pillow, Hayride, and Pedal Tractors.

Caledon Art & Wine Festival.  Nov 1:  10 am - 4 pm.  Enjoy a fall day at the park and see what the area's finest artisans have to offer. Get a jump on holiday shopping. Taste wine from local wineries. A commemorative wine glass is included with the price of tasting. Great food will also be for sale. The picnic shelter, gift shop and visitor center will be open, and hay wagon rides will be available for the kids.  Admission for wine-tasting is $10 per person (21 and older - everyone must have ID to taste). Cox Family Farms Fall Festival Preview.  Sept 20, 21:  10 am - 6 pm.  All of those giant slides, swings, apples and cider, animals, pumpkins are waiting for you, and we know you have been waiting for them!  Be here right when we open and be on the first hayride of 2013!  Cost: $14.  Under 2 is free.  September 27-28 is Opening Weekend, and we're honoring Public Servants with a special offer!  5621 Braddock Rd, Centreville, 20120.

16th Annual Culpeper Harvest Days Farm Tour.  Oct 4, 5:  10 am - 4 pm.  Enjoy the sights, sounds, smells and taste of Culpeper County on farms in the beautiful Blue Ridge foothills. This free event provides a wonderful educational experience and includes a variety of hands on activities and demonstrations. There will be 18 farms and related businesses on this year's tour.   The tour, a self-guided driving experience, can be started at the Welcome Center located at Culpeper Agricultural Enterprises on Route 29.  For more info, check out their FaceBook page: 

Fredericksburg Fall Family Festival with Spotswood Baptist and Thunder 104.5.  Oct 26:  3 pm - 6 pm.  From hay rides to inflatable’s, carnival games to a petting zoo, the Fredericksburg Fall Family Festival offers fun for the entire family. Best of all, all of the activities are FREE! Inside the Towne Centre, children are invited to play a variety of carnival-style games to win candy. Plus, families can enter to win fabulous prizes!  At the Spotsy Towne Centre. 

Fall Harvest Family Days @ Mt. Vernon.Oct 25, 26,:  9am - 5pm.  The entire family enjoys autumn activities including wagon rides, wheat treading in the 16-sided barn, 18th-century dancing demos, a straw bale maze, farrier (blacksmithing) demonstrations, apple-roasting, corn husk dolls demonstrations and early-American games and music. Fredericksburg Harvest Festival.  Oct 4, 9am - 1 pm.  Join us for the last First Saturday of the year!  Shop the farmer's market and enjoy a mini pumpkin patch, face painting, fall decorations for sale and more!  FREE to attend.  Hurkamp Park. 

Fredericksburg Area Wine Festival.  Oct 4 (11am - 5pm) & Oct 5 (12pm - 5pm).  Each year the festival is made up of the 7 ownership wineries and 4 guest wineries which offer over 100 varieties of Virginia's award winning wines for you to sample and purchase. The festival also offers a beer garden.  Other activities include:  food vendors, specialty crafts, a barrel train, face painting, live music and more.  Tickets:  $15/Adv or $20/Gate.  Children 7 - 20 & Designated Drivers:  $10.  Age 6 & under are free!  At the Poncho Villa Pavilion at Celebrate Virginia, 2150 Gordon Shelton Blvd.

23rd Annual Harvest Festival in Bowling Green.  Oct 18, 9am - 4pm.  Live music all day long from local talent. Children’s activities include face painting, pumpkin painting, a petting zoo, and clown entertainment. Other activities include the car show and antique tractor show, antique alley, as well as food and craft vendors.
