(Fredericksburg, VA) On Tuesday, April 5, 2016 Fredericksburg Parks & Recreation and the Woman’s Club of Fredericksburg will plant their annual pinwheel garden at the Dorothy Hart Community Center in honor of National Child Abuse Awareness Month.

The blue and silver pinwheels, which are a symbol for preventing child abuse, will also be planted at Hurkamp Park, Wolfe Street Triangle, Dixon Park, Old Mill Park and Powhatan Park. Traditionally children from the Fredericksburg Head Start Program help with the planting at Hurkamp Park.

The local program initiative at the Community Center is championed by Barbara “Buzzy” Benton.
