Huggies Can Help You Answer the President’s Call to Fight Diaper Need
The White House and President Obama recently announced a new initiative to raise awareness of the prevalence of diaper need across the United States, employing companies and individuals alike to join the cause and help reduce the #DiaperGap.
As revealed by the groundbreaking Huggies Every Little Bottom study,one in three U.S. moms suffer from the inability to provide fresh, clean diapers for their babies. Due to financial strains, parents sometimes have to choose between paying for food or for diapers, a decision that often results in increased stress for the parents and the family as a whole.
As an answer to President Obama’s call one diaper manufacturer immediately renewed its pledge to help reduce the #DiaperGap. As the founding sponsor of the National Diaper Bank Network (NDBN), Huggies announced plans to donate 22 million Huggies diapers to the network in 2016. Additionally, the brand has donated more than 160 million diapers to babies in need over the last six years as part of its Every Little Bottom program.
“Diaper need is an issue we feel very strongly about and have supported for many years,” said Giusy Buonfantino, president of Kimberly-Clark baby and child care North America. “We are pleased to see the issue is receiving national attention from the White House and will continue to do our part as a leader in the effort to combat diaper need.”
Parents can do their part in the fight against diaper need by donating Huggies Rewards points. For every diaper donated through Huggies Rewards program through April 10, Huggies will match donations up to 1 million diapers to the National Diaper Bank Network.
