Bricks 4 Kidz has Landed in Fredericksburg

Bricks 4 Kidz®, winner of Entrepreneur Magazine's Top New Franchises, and the #1 Children's Enrichment Program for 2014 has landed here in the greater Fredericksburg area and Spotsylvania County to provide our youth with exciting science technology engineering mathematics (STEM) and robotic programs using Legos®. Our new Bricks 4 Kidz franchise provides an extraordinary atmosphere for children to learn, build, and play using LEGO® Bricks. Programs are built around our proprietary model plans, designed by engineers and architects, with exciting themes such as space, construction, and amusement parks. Our specially designed project kits and theme-based models provide the building blocks for the Bricks 4 Kidz approach to educational play. At Bricks 4 Kidz, we believe kids learn best through activities that engage their curiosity and creativity.

We offer activities for children ages 3-13+, including:

  • After-school enrichment classes
  • Summer camps
  • Camps during the school year
  • Birthday parties
  • Homeschool classes
  • Preschool classes
  • Kidz Night Out
  • Boys Scouts STEM Badge Workshops
  • Girl Scouts STEM Badge Workshops

Our programs provide a safe, relaxed learning environment where initiative is invited and self-expression is celebrated. Model building provides opportunities for problem-solving and helps kids develop an appreciation for how things work. All this takes place while kids are having fun and socializing.

Our Goals

  • Introduce engineering and architecture principles
  • Explore math and science concepts
  • Develop social/emotional skills such as patience, teamwork and communication in the process of completing a project
  • Enhance self-esteem by solving problems and completing projects
  • Improve fine-motor skills as children manipulate small components
  • Utilize multiple learning modalities to engage visual, kinesthetic and auditory learning styles
  • Teach important classroom skills such as organization and following directions
  • Foster an appreciation for how things work

This new local franchise is owned by Melani and David Lyon and both are licensed teachers by the state of Virginia. Together they have over 30 years of teaching experience with children ranging from ages 3 through 22. "We are extremely excited to begin providing the youth in our community with these incredible programs that enrich and extend learning beyond the typical classroom," said Melani, "Our summer camp schedule is posted on our website at www.bricks4kidz.com/480. Take advantage of the early bird discount if you enroll by May 31st." Beginning July 13th we will be operating in the former "Great Play" store located at 12140 Amos Lane near Spotsylvania Mall.
