Embrey Mill Provides Local Swim Team a Needed Place to Practice

Although it only opened this spring, the pool at Embrey Mill is already generating buzz and having an impact on the community.

This summer Embrey Mill, a master-planned community in North Stafford, has played host to the local swimmers of the Stafford Aquatics Team (STAT) in its five-lane, 25-meter pool.

STAT is a year round, nonprofit USA Swimming affiliated team of 5-18 year old swimmers ranging in ability from novice to nationally-ranked. STAT's goal is to increase both the athletic skills and confidence of its swimmers, making it an important part of the Stafford community.

Because of high demand, regulation-size pools that can accommodate competitive swim teams are hard to come by. STAT was pleased to find a partner in Embrey Mill, and provides a perfect way to activate the new pool and to show off all that Embrey Mill has to offer.

"We were thrilled with Embrey Mill's eagerness to help our team," said Michelle Woodaman, Team Manager. "They were responsive, accommodating to our needs, and neighborly in every way. This summer has been a great experience for our swimmers because of Embrey Mill, and we are delighted how quickly the community has become a true part of Stafford. Thank you again for welcoming us into your neighborhood, Embrey Mill!"

Embrey Mill's central location makes it ideal for STAT's existing members as well as new swimmers trying out over the summer, many of whom are military and DOD families relocating to the area.

Following STAT's early morning practices, the pool is open for use by Embrey Mill residents and members who have purchased a summer pass.
