Owen Scott Lea's life is that of a true Hero! In seven short years Owen displayed more character, drive, determination and will than most people gain in a lifetime!

The Owen Lea Foundation Mission

The Owen Lea Foundation exists to provide support to families Living with Neuroblastoma. We are a 501(c)3 non-profit organization founded in Virginia by the parents, friends and family of Owen Scott Lea. With Owen's guidance from Heaven above, we continuously reach out to any and all families who have a child living with Neuroblastoma.

Owen was diagnosed with stage IV Neuroblastoma just two weeks after his second birthday. After nearly six years of countless rounds of chemotherapy, radiation, numerous surgeries, a stem cell transplant, and two clinical trials, on August 26th, 2009, Owen lost his battle and heaven gained another angel.

The Owen Lea Foundation was established to provide support to families living with Neuroblastoma. The financial and emotional burdens of treating a child with cancer can be devastating. Your assistance will help families alleviate some of these overwhelming costs that are not otherwise covered by insurance-such as travel to and from treatment centers and co-pays for necessary medicines. Sadly in many cases this money also replaces life insurance which is unobtainable for families in this situation. It is our hope that with your assistance, these families can focus their energy where it is needed the most- the care of their child.

Your donation to The Owen Lea Foundation is 100% tax deductible and will help provide a means for families to receive the best possible care for their child. To donate via PayPal click the button below. Additionally, for your ease, deposits can directly be made to the Owen Lea Foundation at any PNC Bank, or checks made out to 'The Owen Lea Foundation' can be mailed to 3 Shannondale Ct, Fredericksburg, VA 22406.

Adoptive parents in Fredericksburg now have a new partner on their journey to a healthy family. In 2016, Children’s Home Society was awarded a $125,000 grant from the Virginia Department of Social Services to extend their Richmond area post-adoptive services to the Fredericksburg area.

Now CHS is looking to find adoptive families in the area who need support before they hit a crisis point. “It doesn’t matter which agency they adopted from, or when that happened,” said Buckheit. “We want to offer a lifetime of support to adoptive families in the Fredericksburg area, especially those who haven’t been aware of our services in the past.”
