A
Cure for Cabin Fever - Indoor Sports!
I thought fall
was never going to arrive, but within a day it went from sweltering
summer to a nice cool day. What comes next is what I fear most as
a mom
Cabin Fever! I used to think it was the small size of
my house that made kids crazy in the winter (and in return, me too).
But when we added on to our house and still suffered from cabin
fever, we decided we needed something more.
Three years
ago we partnered with some friends and family to build and operate
the Fredericksburg Field House. We have five indoor turf fields
and offer everything from Soccer Tot classes to Field Hockey and
Lacrosse clinics, Flag Football and Soccer leagues, Ripken Quickball,
and birthday parties. Bodyworks gym is also part of our facility,
so you can work out while your child is in class. The Field House
is not just child's play. Adult leagues and teams are very popular
as well.
This winter
we are bringing back family fun nights. This is where the adults
play soccer with their kids and spend an active Saturday night together.
While this is an organized sport, we also have groups of friends
or entire neighborhoods that rent a field for a mid-winter indoor
get together. As a mom, my favorite part is just to get the kids
to RUN in a clean, well-lit, warm place. Hot coffee and snacks are
always available at the Field House on cold mornings, making it
a hot spot for play groups to meet. Stop by and meet us or bring
your child for a free trial Soccer Tot class. You can find us on
Shannon Park Drive just off Route 2 (take a right at the WaWa).
Give us a call at 540/361-4717 or check us out on the web at www.FredFieldHouse.com.
