Target
Supports The Fredericksburg Area Museum & Cultural Center
Summer Childrens Workshops
The Fredericksburg
Area Museum & Cultural Center announces that its 2008 Summer
Childrens
Workshops are being sponsored in part by Target. A $2,000 grant
awarded by Target helps to offset costs associated with the Museums
presentation of Sneak a Peek: The Museum is Growing free summer
workshop series for children ages 6-12. The series will focus on
content in the new
exhibits to be unveiled this fall in the Museums expanded
galleries. Children will experience hands-on interactive learning
in this series that includes art projects, craft-making and music
as vehicles through which they will be introduced to years of Fredericksburg
history. This grant is part of ongoing efforts by Target to strengthen
families and communities throughout the country.
To date, Target
has given 5% of its income (currently equating $3 million per week)
to organizations that support education, the arts and safe families
and communities. Laysha Ward,
Targets Vice President of Community Relations states, Were
proud to partner with the Fredericksburg Area Museum & Cultural
Center as part of our ongoing commitment to give back to the communities
where our guests and team members live and work. Says FAMCCs
Director of Development & External Affairs, Christina Esposito,

this series worthy of support, and we hope this partnership will
continue.
