Target Supports The Fredericksburg Area Museum & Cultural Center
Summer Children’s Workshops

The Fredericksburg Area Museum & Cultural Center announces that its 2008 Summer Children’s
Workshops are being sponsored in part by Target. A $2,000 grant awarded by Target helps to offset costs associated with the Museum’s presentation of Sneak a Peek: The Museum is Growing free summer workshop series for children ages 6-12. The series will focus on content in the new
exhibits to be unveiled this fall in the Museum’s expanded galleries. Children will experience hands-on interactive learning in this series that includes art projects, craft-making and music as vehicles through which they will be introduced to years of Fredericksburg history. This grant is part of ongoing efforts by Target to strengthen families and communities throughout the country.

To date, Target has given 5% of its income (currently equating $3 million per week) to organizations that support education, the arts and safe families and communities. Laysha Ward,
Target’s Vice President of Community Relations states, “We’re proud to partner with the Fredericksburg Area Museum & Cultural Center as part of our ongoing commitment to give back to the communities where our guests and team members live and work.” Says FAMCC’s Director of Development & External Affairs, Christina Esposito, “We’re honored that Target considers
this series worthy of support, and we hope this partnership will continue.”

Sneak a Peek: The Museum is Growing workshop series runs June 19 – July 31.
