Nurture, Inc.'s
Fredericksburg Parent Magazine is an award-winning
local parenting magazine for expectant moms and dads and parents
of children from birth through the teen years. Now in its 9th year,
Fredericksburg Parent is published monthly on the
first of the month. Our local writers examine and discuss education,
safety, health care, the arts, family entertainment and child care
in the greater Fredericksburg and Rappahannock region. The monthly
calendar, published both in the magazine
and on the web site, is the most extensive available. Moms, dads,
grandparents, and caregivers of kids of all ages find activities,
exhibits, and entertainment available throughout the month.
We distribute
to the area's families with children under the age of 18 by subscription,
spot delivery to selected neighborhoods, and controlled racks in
over 400 locations. Look for us at Mary Washington Hospital, Central
Rappahannock Regional Library branches, YMCAs, pediatric, dental,
and OB/GYN offices, child care centers, preschools, Parks and Rec
locations, Borders, coffee shops, Ukrops, GEICO, public school offices,
and PTOs. Children in private schools, most preschools, and several
public school districts bring them home in their backpacks monthly.
In addition
to the monthly magazine and the web site, Fredericksburg Parent
produces several special events throughout the year: Healthy Kids
Day, Cover Kids Contest and Baby Fair, Princess Teas, Smart Discipline
Lectures, and an After School Activities Expo.
Our goal is
to create a large parenting network that supports as many families
as possible. We encourage our readers to contribute ideas, information,
suggestions, and stories to help us make Fredericksburg Parent
Magazine a truly valuable parenting tool.
