Your Military Sons and Daughters

Blue Star Mothers of Fredericksburg woPackage Receivd November 2013uld like to step away from the hustle and bustle of the Holiday season to say a huge thank you to you, our followers and our community, for how you have helped out all of our troops this year.

In 2013, Blue Star Mothers of Fredericksburg was able to send well over 400 total packages to our troops that are serving overseas. This could not have happened without your support and generosity.

In June and again in November, we sent care packages all over the world (so it seems). I know that there were packages that went to Afghanistan, Phillipines, Korea and even Africa. The troops were so grateful! Here is what one  individual wrote after receiving his care package:

"Received your care package the other day and wanted to say thank you very much. It is nice to receive these reminders of home especially around the holidays. Wish each and every one of you and your families a very merry Christmas. Hopefully the New Year will be filled with peace. Thanks again. "  J. Zenkovich

As we enter into 2014, our hope is that we continue to touch the lives of our deployed troops (and your local sons and daughters as well). So often we take for granted the little things such as a new tooth brush, and a clean pair of socks which mean the world to those who are serving our country.

From our family to yours....Happy New Year!

St Baldrick’s Foundation began in 2000 over a simple idea – shave a colleague’s beautiful hair while also raising money for kids with cancer. And now this Foundation has funded over $200 million worth of research to cure pediatric
cancer. In 2015, the FDA approved a treatment that offers a higher chance of a cure for high-risk neuroblastoma patients because of that research.
